I was the first assigned Crew Chief when delivered to the 119th Aviation Company Airmobile (light)at Camp Holloway, Pleiku, Republic of South Vietnam
“ The month and year were June 1963. We had Ch-21 Shawnees, a Mowhawk, and five L-19's. The unit was the 81st. Transportation Company (Helicopter) Light. In early June of 63 we received 25 UH-1B Iroquois. ^2-002 was initially used as our "DUSTOFF" aircraft and later transitioned from MEDEVAC, to Psy-War, then to a "Slick" for the remainder of my tour. It is my understanding that 62-2002 was totaled by Major Donald A. Smith (CO of the 119th AVN Company (Airmobile) Light...an organic unit of the 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion. Beyond that, I have no other knowledge of her whereabouts or condition. 62-2002 was an excellent ship and performed flawlessly while I crewed her. ”
