I was the first assigned Crew Chief when delivered to the 119th Aviation Company Airmobile (light)at Camp Holloway, Pleiku, Republic of South Vietnam

notes The month and year were June 1963. We had Ch-21 Shawnees, a Mowhawk, and five L-19's. The unit was the 81st. Transportation Company (Helicopter) Light. In early June of 63 we received 25 UH-1B Iroquois. ^2-002 was initially used as our "DUSTOFF" aircraft and later transitioned from MEDEVAC, to Psy-War, then to a "Slick" for the remainder of my tour. It is my understanding that 62-2002 was totaled by Major Donald A. Smith (CO of the 119th AVN Company (Airmobile) organic unit of the 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion. Beyond that, I have no other knowledge of her whereabouts or condition. 62-2002 was an excellent ship and performed flawlessly while I crewed her.
