1970-05 | May70 d/d 180th at Phu Hiep, Vietnam with less than 100 hours I was her flight engineer. I flew my first mission in to Cambodia and I stayed with her until i left Vietnam in Feb71 with aprox 800 hours on it. We moved to Tuy Hoa airbase in Nov70 180 AvCo | ||
Was a CH-47 Super C, about half of our fleet in the 180th were Super C, the rest were Baby C’s We had a lot of problems with the T55-L-11 engines. 68-16019 lost a few Oct70 they were grounded, 68-16019 was the first ship in the 180th to be converted back to T55-L-7 engines, they worked well, they could still lift more than the Baby C‘s 180 AvCo | |||
