Served briefly with 706Sq B Flight, before being transferred to 845Sq/X when it arrived in the Far East in 1964. Usually based at Sibu (WBGS) in Brunei, it crashed into a river in Sarawak in Apr 1965 while with 845Sq and was w/o. 706 NAS
Sibu is in Sarawak Third Division on the Ragang River. The tail rotor hit a tree duting take off, consequently the pilot landed safely inspect the tail rotor found that one blade was damaged, he cut a piece out of the other blade to even out the damage. On take off the aircraft inverted , crashed killing the pilot
