Site of the former RAF Handforth, base for 61 MU. Opened in 1939, the site had mostly closed by 1959, although a few small RAF buildings remained. Some buildings were taken over privately and the Stockport Aircraft Preservation Society was based here in the 1970s. The site was largely cleared by demolition and re-landscaping in the 1980s.
