The Franklin Field was discovered by Ultramar in 1986 in the Central Graben structure of the North Sea. A joint production plan with the adjacent Elgin field was developed and first production of gas condensate from West Franklin (in a tilted bock of Jurassic Fulmar Sandstone) was in late 2007. Production is exported via a 24in diam Southern Spur pipe connecting to the Forties System.
