Saunders Roe Skeeter

Skeeter 4

A single Skeeter 4 was built as the third of three development airframes funded by the Ministry of Supply (MoS) - the other two being the Skeeter 3 batch. The Skeeter 4 was essentially aimed at the Royal Navy and had an improved engine from the Skeeter 3 for the Army. After May 1953, MoS funding was withdrawn until SARO had solved the ground resonance issues with the Model - which was not achieved until the Skeeter 6.
