
The NH90 was selected by the Australian armed forces in 2005 as the MRH90 (Multi Role Helicopter). Initial orders covered 42 aircraft which reached 47 in 2013 to be divided between the Army and Navy. Locally assembled by Australian Aerospace ( then an Eurocopter subsidiary, now part of Airbus ) in Brisbane.
Like with the other users, the Australian NH90 suffered a delayed active deployment but the combine fleet achieved 30,000 flight hours by April 2018.
