Owned and operated by civilian companies ( GEO-SEIS, Evergreen ) on behalf of the Military Sealift Command. Commercial helicopters used to resupply (VERTREP) US Navy ships at sea.

Separate contracts awarded other types of missions as casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and search and rescue (SAR) services in differents parts of the world.


Also featuring in video is a MH-60S Seahawk. Both aircraft replaced the UH-46 Sea Knight

Byrd (T-AKE 4) dry cargo/ammunition ship.

Evergreen to provide Pumas for USNS Spica and USNS Saturn, 25-Aug-04 : The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command has awarded a one-year contract to Evergreen Helicopters of Alaska, Inc., based in Anchorage, Ala., to provide ship-based helicopter support to U.S. Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force ships. The helicopters will provide vertical replenishment services for the ships of Military Sealift Command's Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force. NFAF ships provide fuel, food, ammunition, spare parts and other supplies to U.S. Navy ships at sea -- enabling the Navy fleet to remain deployed and combat-ready.
