Bristow began initial testing of the Schiebel S-100 Camcopter in 2018 with a view to bringing them into service during the current UKSAR contract. Schiebel is one of several drone models to be tested by Bristow.

Following a trial program in March 2020, two drones entered first limited service at Caernarfon base in Wales in July 2020.

In August 2022, Bristow was awarded the Second-Generation Search and Rescue (UKSAR2G) programme contract to operate the Camcopter UAS for 10 years.
