Leonardo, October 17, 2019 - Seoul - Leonardo and UI International of Republic of Korea have signed today at the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition 2019 (ADEX) a Support Distributorship Agreement aimed at further expanding their collaboration in marketing, sales and service supply for the growing fleet of Leonardo commercial and public utility helicopters in the Country.

With this agreement, UI International will set up an additional facility to increase the responsiveness and effectiveness of support operations covering all the relevant models flying in the Republic of Korea.

The agreement is part of Leonardo’s strategy to be increasingly closer to its existing and future customers worldwide, in line with its Industrial Plan, and will ensure timely and efficient support to the almost 30 Leonardo commercial and public utility helicopters flying in the Republic of Korea.

This growing fleet is comprised mostly of AW109 and AW139 helicopters plus the recently introduced AW169 and AW189, for which UI International already supports marketing activities.

Leonardo has been experiencing great success in the Republic of Korea’s helicopter market, with a fleet that has more than doubled in just five years. Building on this growth, the agreement – which covers spare parts, ground support equipment, tools, technical assistance, training and additional services – is also aimed at enhancing the customer support capabilities of UI Helicopter, Leonardo’s only Authorized Service Center in the Republic of Korea.

The stock of spare parts, the very first one in the Country for commercial and parapublic helicopters, will be gradually increased extending the coverage to all models and increasing the responsiveness towards customers’ needs.

The vast majority of EMS fleet in the Republic of Korea comprises of Leonardo helicopters.
