Mecaer Aviation Group, November 01, 2022 - LAVAL, Canada – Mecaer Aviation Group and Archer Aviation Inc., a leader in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, have entered into an agreement for the design, development, qualification, and supply of landing gear for Archer’s piloted-plus-four-passenger eVTOL aircraft, Midnight.
Mecaer’s extensive design expertise and its years of production experience across demanding programs were decisive factors in Archer selecting Mecaer as its partner of choice for the supply of the landing gear system.
Archer works to incorporate the latest advancements in technology into its aircraft to draw on its safety benefits, and accommodate the unique elements of its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
As such, Archer has selected Mecaer to supply its landing gear systems, which will enable conventional and vertical takeoff and landing at a high utilization frequency and low maintenance cost.
The partnership adds another high-profile customer to Mecaer’s growing portfolio while also demonstrating Archer’s continued momentum as it moves toward its goal of achieving Type Certification for its production aircraft in 2024.
