Airbus Helicopters, March 21, 2017 - Langkawi – Airbus Helicopters and the Royal Malaysian Navy held a ceremony at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), to celebrate the excellent fleet availability record of the AS555 SN Fennec fleet.
Attended by Panglima Pemerintahan Armada from the Royal Malaysian Navy, Laksamana Madya Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohamad Roslan bin Mohamad Ramli, Panglima Udara TLDM, Laksamana Pertama Dato’ Pahlawan Alias bin Baharuddin and pilots from the Royal Malaysian Navy, Airbus Helicopters’ Vice President and Head of Sales - South East Asia & Pacific, Fabrice Rochereau, presented Panglima Udara TLDM and the pilots from 502 Squadron with the awards to commemorate the milestone.
The Royal Malaysian Navy’s pilots who have achieved 1,000 and 500 flying hours respectively were also presented with flying hours achievement awards during this memorable event.
The Royal Malaysian Navy currently operates six AS555 SN Fennec helicopters. The lightweight, multi-purpose AS555 SN is a twin-engine naval combat helicopter which is used for over-the-horizon targetting and training.
