Singapore Ministry of Defence, February 07, 2020 - The two Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) CH-47D Chinook helicopters from the training detachment based at Australian Army Aviation Centre Oakey that were deployed to RAAF East Sale in Victoria to assist in the Bushfires campaign ended their mission.
“We have concluded our month-long deployment for Operation Bushfire Assist. Salute to our airmen and women for assisting our Australian Defence Force (ADF) friends in their mission.”, said Singapore Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen
“The ADF has thanked the RSAF for our help in their bushfire relief efforts as our deployment ends. Over the past one month, 71 The Republic of Singapore Air Force personnel and two Chinooks worked alongside the ADF to fly over 30 sorties, ferry more than 260 people and brought aid and firefighting equipment. I want to thank all the RSAF personnel for their hard work.”
