First AW119 to the Phoenix Police

AgustaWestland, February 26, 2006 - AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that Phoenix Police Air Support Unit, marked a handover for the first of three A119 Koalas configured with new high-tech, mission-specific electronic equipment for its law enforcement role.

The ceremony took place the 26th of February during the HAI Heli-Expo annual convention in Dallas, Texas.

The delivery further enhances the AgustaWestland's presence in the Phoenix Police Department aviation unit fleet building on the earlier delivery of one A109 Power at the end of 2005.

The addition A119 Koalas allows the unit to expand their mission capabilities. This first delivery takes place just a few months after the Phoenix Police & Fire Departments took delivery of their multi-role twin engine A109 Power helicopter.

The ability to change the interior configuration provides exceptional versatility to support the Police and Law Enforcement role.

Several major US operators have placed orders including New York City Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Unit and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and Fire District, confirming that the A119 Koala is the ideal solution for this market.
