Mecaer Aviation Group, March 01, 2016 - Irving, TX - Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG) announced it has initiated the development and certification of their proprietary SILENS technology for the sliding door AW139.
MAG’s SILENS technology, a noise canceling system that reduces cabin decibel levels to where normal conversations can be conducted between passengers and without the use of headsets, has previously been approved for hinged door AW139s. MAG uses a combination of interior panel design, state-of-the-art sound dampening materials, and specific connecting points to the airframe to achieve these low Db levels.
MAG has delivered over 160 AW139s in the Corporate/VIP configuration. Going into the third quarter of 2016, clients will have the option for MAG’s SILENS technology in a sliding door AW139. The new SILENS will be certified with EASA and the FAA.
“Sliding door AW139s are very popular in North America and we will be filling a void for our clients and are very excited to be giving them greater choices,” said Armando Sassoli, Co-General Manager of Mecaer Aviation Group. “We are actively working to identify a launch customer, and given the initial reaction from the industry, we do not think we will be waiting long to make that announcement.”
