Chinese CAAC Validation For Bell 429 Medical Interior
United Rotorcraft received CAAC (Civil Aviation Authority of China) Validation for its FAA STC of the Bell 429 emergency medical interior.
Air Methods, January 16, 2017 - DENVER, CO – United Rotorcraft received CAAC (Civil Aviation Authority of China) Validation for its FAA STC of the Bell 429 emergency medical interior.
The validation supported the delivery of the first EMS Bell 429 into the Chinese EMS market. The aircraft was completed at Bell Helicopter Canada and delivered to an operator based in Beijing.
United Rotorcraft’s CAAC validated B429 medical interior consists of a machined aluminum floor overlay with “anti-skid” surface and United Rotorcraft’s aerospace designed and manufactured Roll-on/Fold-up (ROFU) litter, which allows the patient to have headrest up for all aspects of flight, enhancing patient care and access. The kit also includes medical crew seating and advanced life support systems such as liquid oxygen, integrated compressed air, suction, and electrical power.
“This delivery and CAAC validation represents two years of effort to bring our product into China and we’re delighted to work with Bell to make it happen,” stated Frank Graham, Sr. Director of Global Sales & Marketing. “We look forward to future opportunities in China made available to us because of this product’s CAAC validation.”
United Rotorcraft continues to pursue CAAC Validation for its other products as well as continues to develop interiors for up and coming airframes such as the Bell 505, Leonardo Helicopter 169, and the Marenco SkyE.
