Helis, December 24, 2020 - Luftwaffe (air force) CH-53G helicopters deployed in Afghanistan returned home after being replaced by HEER (army) NH90s.
Six NH90 TTH took over the Medical Evacuation (MedEvac) and transport missions carried out until now by the CH-53 from Mazar-i-Sharif.
German's CH-53 were first deployed in Afghanistan in 2012 and the NH90 were already in country during 2014
