    Helis, August 01, 2020 - The CityAirbus, an all-electric, four-seat, multicopter vehicle demonstrator that focuses on advancing remotely piloted electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight completed it first full autonomous flight.

    The aircraft had an automatic takeoff, get stabilization in the air, and finished with an automatic landing.

    At the end of August, it will be transferred to Manching for forward flight trials in a secure environment where it can further expand its flight envelope.

    “This was a great achievement for us. At Manching is the next big step for us so we will move to Manching end of August and we will extend the flight envelope of the aircraft so we will flight forward and then we will flight at medium and higher speeds than we did here in Donauwörth. There we have the secured area to do this kind of flight envelope extension we need to do.”, said Marius Bebesel chief engineer & head of CityAirbus program at Airbus.
