Seventh EC130T2 joins Blue Hawaiian fleet

Blue Hawaiian has announced the arrival of its seventh Airbus Helicopters EC130T2 helicopter

Blue Hawaiian, November 12, 2014 - Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has announced the arrival of its seventh Airbus Helicopters EC130 T2 “Eco-Star,” increasing its fleet total to 28 aircraft: 27 helicopters (14 EC130s, seven EC130T2s and six AS350B2s) and one Cessna 206 airplane. Blue Hawaiian is the largest air tour operator in Hawaii and the only one serving all of the islands.

Approximately 70 percent of the T2 airframe structure has been modified with energy-absorbing seats, an active vibration-control system, improved air ventilation systems, a cabin interior structure redesign with a full flat floor, and a new Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine that provides increased power with lower fuel consumption.

Dave Chevalier, Blue Hawaiian’s founder and CEO said, “We’re excited to continue to grow our fleet to give more visitors the world’s finest aerial views. The T2 retains the breakthrough ‘quiet technology’ that has made the ‘Eco-Star’ the ultimate touring helicopter for Hawaii’s delicate environment.”

Blue Hawaiian was instrumental in the development of the “Eco-Star” and owns the state’s largest fleet of helicopters.

Blue Hawaiian’s renowned dedication to excellence is reflected in its countless awards and recognitions as well as its continual quality improvement.

Three more EC130 T2s will be added to the fleet in 2015.
