Eurocopter, March 07, 2011 - Swiss operator Rega, one of the most experienced helicopter emergency services (HEMS) operators in Europe, was present on Eurocopter’s booth today to celebrate hitting the 20,000 flight hour mark with their fleet of 6 EC145s in just a mere 8 years. Rega, which started operations in Switzerland in 1952, just achieved its 300,000th mission last October.
Eurocopter’s Vice President of Commercial Programs Joseph Saporito thanked Rega representatives during the ceremony, which included Albert Keller, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Andreas Lüthi, Chief Financial Officer, Reini Gamma, Continuing Airworthiness Manager and Lukas Kistler, Rega’s EC145 chief pilot.
Eurocopter’s brand-new EC145 T2, unveiled yesterday at Heli-Expo, could be an excellent solution to help the operator meet its mountain rescue requirements well into the 21st century.
