DRF Luftrettung at European Rotors 2024
DRF Luftrettung, October 22, 2024 - Filderstadt, Germany - DRF Luftrettung will be presenting its extensive range of services at the international helicopter trade show European Rotors from 5 to 7 November 2024 at stands 4085 and 5090 in Amsterdam.

The focus will be on offers and services from DRF Maintenance and DRF Akademie – including maintenance solutions and helicopter modifications as well as training in the core areas of flight operations, maintenance and medicine.

Mirko Strauss, Head of Sales at DRF Luftrettung said “We are proud to be able to offer maintenance, CAMO and design organisation services for various helicopter types thanks to DRF Luftrettung`s various EASA approvals and certifications. At the trade show, we will be presenting a broad portfolio from a single source as a one stop-shop. We are able to meet very complex customer requirements thanks to our extensive expertise and over 50 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of helicopters for HEMS operation. This expertise makes us an indispensable partner for all aspects of helicopter operations”

The focus will be on Part-145 services for the H155, EC155, H145, EC145, H135, EC135 and BO105 helicopter types. Experts will provide an insight into the portfolio of Line and Base Maintenance with its specialized stores, e.g. for helmets and night vision devices. DRF Akademie will also be presenting its extensive training portfolio, which includes type ratings, advanced medical training and CRM training as well as technical training at the EASA Part-147-certified training school.

Innovations by the EASA Part 21-design organisation

A helicopter model will be hovering above stand no. 4085, visualising an innovation from the design organisation: pulsing lights, LED lights installed on the aircraft that ensure greater visibility in airspace. The system developed and approved by DRF Luftrettung's Part-21 J&G has already been installed in some of the DRF Luftrettung's fleet of EC135 and H145 helicopters. DRF Maintenance offers this modification to customers – as a complete solution with installation in an aircraft or as an approved installation kit.

State-of-the-art hoist simulator for Airbus aircraft: hoistAR®

Another highlight at stand no. 5090 is the hoistAR® hoist simulator developed with Reiser Simulation and Training. Mobile, adaptable to the individual needs of crews and combinable with the Full Flight Simulator Level D H145/H135: DRF Luftrettung experts will use demos to show how pilots and hoist operators can train hoist operations in virtual space in a very real way, thus comprehensively expanding training options.

Modern fleet and EASA Part-145 maintenance facilities

DRF Luftrettung operates the largest H145 fleet in the world, which is maintained in its in-house EASA Part-145 maintenance facilities at the DRF Luftrettung Operation Center at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport as well as at the DRF Maintenance in Wilhelmshafen. Experienced aircraft mechanics and avionics technicians at the Operation Center carry out inspection and maintenance work on the helicopters in the 15 maintenance docks and adjacent workshops. In its in-house EASA Part 147 training organisation, DRF Luftrettung relies on its own highly qualified instructors, who have extensive knowledge of various helicopter types and engines.
