
Finnish Army, May 02, 2025 - The Royal Danish Air Force Helicopter Unit will participate in the training and exercise activities of the Helicopter Battalion of the Uti Jaeger Regiment from 9 to 16 May 2025.
The Danish helicopter division includes three Fennec AS550 C2 helicopters with their flight crews.
Helicopter operations are carried out in the land and sea areas of Southeast Finland and Southern Finland, including the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
The Army's training activities include AH-64E Apache and AW159 Wildcat helicopters from the British Armed Forces. The helicopters' flight operations are part of the Army's overall training in exercises led by the Kainuu Brigade, the Karelian Brigade, the Armoured Brigade, and the Air Force Academy.
During their stay in Finland, British military helicopters rely on, among others, the Uti Jaeger Regiment in Uti, Kouvola. Helicopter operations occur at all hours of the day and may cause noise pollution.
The Finns will operate NH90 and MD500 helicopters during the Army's spring exercises.
In addition, the Air Force supports the exercises with the flight operations of F/A-18 Hornet fighters, Hawk jet trainers, and transport and liaison aircraft.
Helicopter operations related to other spring training activities of the Army will take place throughout Finland until the beginning of June.
