Heli-One Becomes Universal Avionics Top Dealer
Universal Avionics, March 07, 2017 - DALLAS, TX – For the first time in Universal Avionics’ history, a rotorcraft company has been awarded the distinction of International Top Dealer.

Heli-One Norway achieved this honor for 2016; a significant accomplishment that marks a growing position in the helicopter market for Universal Avionics products.

Heli-One brought forward several key special mission retrofit programs in 2016 for platforms that include the Sikorsky S-61, Sikorsky S-76, and Airbus AS332. These installations promote integrated cockpits with Universal Avionics EFI-890H Advanced Flight Displays and Flight Management Systems (FMS) / Multi-Missions Management Systems (MMMS).

“Legacy helicopters have needed these upgrades for some time, but the options for doing so have been limited until now,” said Grady Dees, Universal Avionics Director of Technical Sales. “Obsolescence and difficulty in supporting electromechanical displays, as well as some mandates, are driving the upgrade market, as are the costs of upgrading a helicopter vs purchasing a new one,” he added. “There is still a lot of life left in these machines, and Heli-One’s experienced and capable team of avionics designers recognize the capabilities to support them. Paired with our products that are designed to seamlessly retrofit onto legacy aircraft, Heli-One and Universal Avionics can offer cost-effective, reliable upgrade solutions.”

"Universal Avionics has been a great partner in developing innovative solutions for our customers that address obsolescence issues, expand operational capability, enhance safety and deliver long-lasting value,” said Anthony DiNota, President, Heli-One. “Their ability and aptitude to adapt and tailor solutions for rotorcraft will benefit the industry immensely. We can rely on them to go above and beyond to put our customers' needs first and we look forward to continuing our collaborative working relationship for many more projects to come.".
