ITP Aero and Pratt & Whitney 10th Anniversary of Partnership
ITP Aero, September 26, 2022 - This morning, Bob Quinn, executive director of Partnership Programs at Pratt & Whitney, together with Carlos Alzola, CEO of ITP Aero and Mikel Lantero, executive director of ITP Aero's Civil Business Unit, led the ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the partnership between ITP Aero and the North-American-based aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney.

ITP Aero's first contract with Pratt & Whitney was signed in 2012, and marked ITP Aero's entry into the single-aisle aircraft engine market, a very important milestone in the company's customer diversification strategy.

Today, ITP Aero is a risk and revenue sharing partner for all Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, manufacturing Mid Turbine Frames or MTFs (intermediate structure between the engine’s two turbines), Integrated Bladed Rotors or IBRs (discs that compress the compressor air) and Externals (components on the outside of the engine that distribute fluids such as oil, fuel or air). In the ten years of collaboration between the two companies, ITP Aero has produced more than 1,600 IBRs, 1,300 large structural castings for the MTFs, 2,500 MTF outer cases and more than 350,000 externals, among other products.

The GTF engine family is the quietest, most environmentally friendly and efficient engine family for single-aisle aircraft, with more than 1,300 aircraft in service and more than 15 million engine flight hours to date. In addition, the GTF engine family also offers cutting-edge sustainability benefits such as up to 75% reduction in noise emissions, up to 50% reduction in NOx emissions, and up to 20% reduction in CO2 emissions.

During the ceremony, Bob Quinn stated: “It is an honor to be here with you today, almost ten years to the day of when we signed our first contract. Since that time, ITP and Pratt & Whitney have worked tirelessly as we build a strong future together. Pratt & Whitney has benefited from the extensive and diverse capabilities ITP has brought to our GTF programs, from cast structures to rotating IBRs”.

Mikel Lantero said: "The tenth anniversary of our partnership with Pratt & Whitney is a true reflection of the successful collaboration between the two companies. This milestone reinforces our line of business growth and development, both companies share strong synergies and I am confident that we will continue to leverage our shared capabilities going forward".

About ITP Aero : ITP Aero is a world leading company within its market, currently the ninth largest aircraft engine and components company in the world by revenue. Ranking among the top one hundred companies in the aerospace industry. The company employs 4,300 people at its production centers in Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, Malta and India.
