Russian Helicopters, April 02, 2015 - Russian Helicopters plans to repair and modernise a batch of naval shipborne Ka-27 helicopters at Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise.
Modernisation work on the first batch of helicopters will be carried out for the Russian Navy and is due to be completed by the end of 2015.
Ka-27PS helicopters are used in search and rescue operations, and the Ka-27PL is designed to identify and destroy enemy submarines.
The export variant is the Ka-28, that has been supplied to countries including India, Vietnam, and China.
The Ka-27 modernisation programme will make it possible to offer foreign states the opportunity to modernise those Ka-28 antisubmarine helicopters that are in operation or to purchase new Ka-28s boasting enhanced capabilities.
