Wucher Bell 205 for Long Line Cargo Hook Load

SPAES GmbH & Co. KG, August 01, 2018 - Karlsruhe – SPAES GmbH & Co. KG installed with Wucher Helicopter a power and control box for use of long line load hooks and further systems for external load operation at helicopter Bell 204/205.

The power and control box is mounted at the lower fuselage of the helicopter and supplies the external load cable with power to release and close the load hook.

The box gives the trigger impulse to open the load hook which is activated by a push button in the stick of the pilot. The long line load hook opens and closes for taking of and setting down loads.

According to forest fires the control box opens and closes the bambi bucket for unloading process.

“The requirements of helicopters constantly change. SPAES applied the change / Supplement Type Certificate (STC) at The European Safety Agency (EASA) and implemented the change in its PART 21J design organization”, explains Joachim Schanz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SPAES.

The installation of the power and control box was implemented in the maintenance center of Wucher Helicoter in Ludesch in Austria. For approval of STC SPAES prepared the installation documents and performed the necessary tests on site of the customer. The EASA approved the STC after closure of tests and fulfilling the certificate.
