Helis, July 22, 2019 - Mercy Life Line air ambulance service celebrated 35 years of accident-free service with a free, family-friendly community safety expo on Saturday, June 29.
Mercy had a Life Line helicopter available for tours, joined by a helicopter from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Founded in 1984, Mercy Life Line Air Medical Service functions within the scope of the Mercy Health System in a manner which provides quality emergency patient care to all persons presenting with those needs.
Mercy was named one of the top five large U.S. health systems in 2016-2019 by IBM Watson Health, serves millions annually. Mercy includes more than 40 acute care, managed and specialty (heart, children's, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, 900 physician practices and outpatient facilities, 45,000 co-workers and 2,400 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Mercy also has clinics, outpatient services and outreach ministries in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. In addition, Mercy's IT division, Mercy Technology Services, supply chain organization, ROi, and Mercy Virtual commercially serve providers and patients from coast to coast.
Mercy Life Line has an outstanding safety record and has been accident free since 1984. In 1999 Mercy Life Line was awarded the Air Medical Safety Award for recognition of 12,000 consecutive accident free EMS helicopter missions from American Eurocopter (now Airbus). Life Line now has over 43,000 accident free missions.
Metro Aviation, Shreveport, LA, maintains Operational Control for all of Mercy Life Line's helicopters.
