U.S. Government announced sale of 12 Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters to the Republic of Korea Navy. The ROKN selected the Romeo in December 2020 worth us$ 850M as its new Maritime Operations Helicopter





Twelve MH-60R Seahawk for South Korea
Defense.gov, April 13, 2021 - Lockheed Martin Corp., Owego, New York, is awarded a $447,230,778 firm-fixed-price order (N0001921F0841) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N0001921G0017).

This order provides for the production and delivery of 12 MH-60R aircraft for the government of the Republic of Korea.

Work will be performed in :

- Owego, New York (52%);
- Stratford, Connecticut (40%);
- Troy, Alabama (8%),

Work is expected to be completed in December 2024.

Foreign Military Sales funds in the amount of $447,230,778 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Operational and deployed with the U.S. Navy as the primary anti-submarine warfare anti-surface weapon system for open ocean and littoral zones, the MH-60R Seahawk is the most capable naval helicopter available designed to operate from frigates and destroyers.

The MH-60R is already operated or in order to be in the U.S. Navy, Australia, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, India and Greece.
