Leonardo, September 05, 2018 - From 4-7 September, Leonardo and its Polish subsidiary PZL-Świdnik are exhibiting at the 26th edition of the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce, Poland.
At its stand (Hall E – stand 22), Leonardo is exhibiting a model of the M-346 advanced trainer aircraft, with 12 units ordered by the Polish Air Force (eight of which are already in service) and the Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft.
Also showcased are the AW101 helicopter in naval configuration, models of helicopters produced by PZL-Świdnik, as well as a wide range of defence technologies, products and systems. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see Leonardo’s capabilities in the defence electronics domain with the Mysis protection and ULISSES ASW systems, and the space capabilities through Telespazio optical satellite.
In the static area, Leonardo is also displaying the W-3PL Głuszec helicopter used by the Polish Army and the SW-4 ‘Solo’ Rotary Wing Unmanned Air Vehicle (RWUAV), derived from the SW-4 helicopter and produced by PZL-Świdnik in Poland.
Leonardo has a significant presence in Poland through its subsidiary PZL-Świdnik, a Polish helicopter manufacturer with over 65 years of experience in the aviation sector, with more than 7,400 helicopters produced for customers in over 40 countries.
Thanks to PZL-Świdnik, Poland is one the few countries with the capability to design, produce and develop helicopters. PZL-Świdnik has approximately 3,000 employees; cooperates with over 1,000 local enterprises; and is a core partner of the Polish Ministry for National Defence with almost 160 PZL-Świdnik-made helicopters in service with the country’s Armed Forces.
