NHV, December 20, 2025 - Ostend, Belgium - NHV Group announces a new chapter in its ownership structure, with GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) signing an agreement to acquire NHV Group (NHV) and succeeding private investment house Ardian.
GDHF aims to close the transaction, which is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals, in the first quarter of 2026.
This development strengthens NHV’s long-term positioning as a leading helicopter operator, focused on delivering mission-critical services. Within a newly established group structure, NHV continues to build on its core strengths: safe, reliable and highly precise helicopter operations for demanding environments.
The newly formed group serves a broad range of mission-critical sectors, including Offshore Energy, Government, Maritime Services, Wind, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Search and Rescue (SAR), Parapublic operations, MRO and Training. Operational independence remains unchanged. NHV concentrates on its established markets, while GDHF continues its global helicopter leasing & finance activities.
For NHV, GDHF ownership marks a tangible step forward. Supported by GDHF, NHV Group accelerates future growth and enhances operational flexibility. This directly supports customer needs for performance, availability and value, while reinforcing NHV’s uncompromising safety standards and service quality.
Lars-Henrik Thorngreen, CEO of NHV Group, said: “GDHF ownership reinforces what NHV stands for: operational excellence, safety without compromise and long-term commitment to our customers. It gives us the means to strengthen our operational resilience and continue delivering pivotal services where reliability truly matters”.
Michael York, CEO of GDHF said: “This strategic acquisition creates huge synergistic value, combining GDHF’s global helicopter leasing & finance capabilities together with NHV’s strong market position and reputation as a premium European helicopter operator and MRO service provider”.
