Helis, September 03, 2019 - The Polish Medical Air Rescue ( Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe, LPR ) reached 75,000 flight hours with their fleet of 27 EC135/H135 helicopters.
This impressive milestone adds to their recent celebration of 300,000 landings with this model.
This year alone, the LPR completed 8,400 emergency medical flights.
The LPR received 23 EC135P2+ from 2009 and 4 EC135P3/H135 in 2015.
The Polish Medical Air Rescue was established in 2000 and is financed by the Ministry of Health. Every base has hired pilots, doctors, nurses and paramedics. They started flying with Mi-2 helicopters, fitted with proper medical equipment, which were eventually replaced by the EC135s. Nowadays, the LPR operates 21 regional HEMS bases, 1 seasonal HEMS base and 1 EMS transport team
