Russian Helicopters, December 21, 2021 - The second crew of the Indian company Sky One Airways Ltd has begun retraining under an additional professional advanced training program for a new type of Mi-171A2 helicopter at the aviation training center of the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant of the Russian Helicopters holding of State Corporation Rostec.
The program for Indian pilots includes theoretical training, as well as simulator and flight training on the Mi-171A2 helicopter.
Earlier, at the beginning of 2021, specialists from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of India conducted a preliminary inspection of the training center with the aim of its subsequent validation.
“When training flight personnel, special attention is given to the procedure and rules for operating the equipment of the helicopter cockpit and its systems, the peculiarities of the piloting technique, aerodynamics and dynamics of the helicopter flight,” said Aleksey Kozlov, Managing Director of U-UAZ.
Theoretical training takes 170 hours. As part of the training, the aircraft commander and co-pilot of the Indian company Sky One Airways Ltd will spend 12 hours in the cockpit of a Mi-171A2 helicopter. Training flights will amount to more than 9 hours per pilot.
Foreign experts study the aerodynamics of the Mi-171A2, the design and technical operation of the helicopter, its aviation and radio-electronic equipment, as well as the VK-2500PS-03 engine with a digital control system and an auxiliary power unit. The training process also covers flight deck resource management, aviation communications and radiotelephony.
In addition, the training program includes actions in non-standard and emergency situations, as well as preparation for flights with the removal of the helicopter from a difficult spatial position. At the end of the training, the crew members of Sky One Airways Ltd will receive certificates confirming the completion of the course.
