Brazilian Navy, February 12, 2021 - On January 26, the 1st Recco & Attach Helicopter Squadron (EsqdHA-1) of the Brazilian Navy received another of the Wild Lynx aircraft, designated in the Navy as AH-11B, modernized by the company Leonardo Helicopters.
The arrival of the aircraft marks the fourth delivery of a total of eight helicopters, which, in addition to expanding the Squadron's operational capacity, aims to equip the Brazilian Squadron Ships.
The AH-11A modernization contract includes:
- installation of the CTS-800-4N engines, increasing performance and reducing limitations;
- updating the instrument panel to “Full Glass Cockpit”, compatible with Night Vision Goggles (NVG);
- updating tactical and navigation systems;
- replacement of the Electronic War Support Measures equipment (MAGE-RWR).
Now the helicopter will begin the assembly phase, followed by final acceptance flights and, finally, the incorporation into the operative service expanding the operational horizon as a future organic aircraft of a Tamandaré Frigate Class
