Columbia Helicopters now T55-714 Service Center
Columbia Helicopters, February 19, 2014 - Portland, Oregon – Columbia Helicopters is pleased to announce that Honeywell International has named Columbia Helicopters as an authorized Service Center for the Honeywell T55-714 engine series.

The Honeywell T55-714 turbine engine is widely used on Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters, operated by militaries around the world.

Columbia Helicopters has recently expanded into the CH-47 market, purchasing three of the Boeing Chinook helicopters from the U.S. Government.

The company expects to begin operating these aircraft as soon as they are processed through the company's maintenace facility.

“We are pleased that Honeywell and Columbia Helicopters reached this agreement,” said Scott Ellis, Columbia’s Director of Business Development. “This expands our capabilities to work on the CH-47 Chinook helicopter, and will provide Columbia’s customers with comprehensive repair and overhaul capabilities that few other CH47 maintenance suppliers can provide.”

As part of the Service Center Agreement, Honeywell recently certified Columbia Helicopters’ turbine engine test cell, recognizing that it is capable of ensuring repaired engines meet the manufacturer’s specifications.
