Bucher, April 28, 2026 - Bucher has successfully delivered and commissioned a cutting-edge H135 Disaster Management Kit (DMK) for the Tanzanian fire and rescue services in Dar es Salaam.
The project, implemented in partnership with Jetstream Avia and NAFFCO, significantly enhances operational capabilities in East Africa.
Our H135 DMK embodies our long-standing expertise in the development of mission-critical helicopter equipment.
The system enables a wide range of rescue operations – from search and rescue missions and wildfire fighting to complex disaster relief operations under extreme conditions.
Lukas Hollnsteiner, Sales Manager at Bucher Leichtbau, said “With this installation, we are setting an important milestone for disaster relief in Tanzania. Our team, in close consultation with the Tanzanian emergency services, has developed a system that is precisely tailored to their requirements while simultaneously meeting the highest safety standards.”
Our helicopter interiors impress with groundbreaking features:
- Modular system design: All components are united under one STC certification (Supplemental Type Certificate) – for maximum operational safety and regulatory compliance.
- Versatile deployment configurations: Adaptable equipment variants for a wide range of mission profiles, from emergency medical services to special rescue operations.
- Medical device certification: Full medical approval with CE marking according to the strictest European standards.
- Thoughtful ergonomics: Functional and hygienic design for optimal working conditions for emergency personnel.
- Adaptable to specific needs: Modular design allows for flexible configuration depending on the intended use and customer requirements.
As part of the project, the Tanzanian emergency responders received comprehensive training on the new equipment. Our experienced technicians imparted practical know-how on system operation, maintenance procedures, and operational methods.
The project's success is based on the proven collaboration with Jetstream Avia and NAFFCO – both companies are established market leaders in their respective fields. This strategic partnership underscores the importance of interconnected expertise in the realization of demanding rescue technology projects.
