Airbus Helicopters, August 04, 2015 - WASHINGTON, DC - Airbus Group celebrated with thousands of employees and partners across the country with today's release of a U.S. Postal Service Forever stamp honoring the U.S. Coast Guard's 225th anniversary -- and featuring the Airbus Helicopters MH-65 Dolphin.

The Coast Guard has relied on the Dolphin for 30 years to protect the security of the nation, advance America's vital maritime interests and save thousands of lives. There are 102 Dolphins in the Coast Guard fleet based at 17 air stations on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Gulf of Mexico, Hawaii and the Great Lakes region.

"We're honored to support the mission of the men and women of the Coast Guard and are thrilled that the Dolphin helicopter is being recognized as part of this historic event," said Allan McArtor, Chairman and CEO of Airbus Group, Inc. "Every time I see an MH-65 flying patrol over our nation's capital, or read about another successful rescue, I get a renewed sense of pride in all the roles Airbus Group is privileged to play in our nation's security."

The Coast Guard put into service its first Dolphin helicopter in 1985 and has recorded 1.41 million flight hours since its maiden flight. The Coast Guard's most ubiquitous aircraft, the MH-65 is tailored for a full range of missions and is capable of performing in the most severe all-weather conditions and night-time operations.

The stamp was created in an oil painting on masonite by aviation artist William S. Phillips, and also depicts another icon of the Coast Guard: the three-masted sailing cutter Eagle, also known as "America's Tall Ship."

The Dolphin is manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. Airbus Helicopters, Inc., based in Grand Prairie, Texas, began operations in 1969 and has since grown to become a leading provider of rotorcraft to the U.S. market. More than 1,800 Airbus Helicopters rotary-wing aircraft are flown by more than 440 U.S. operators -- including corporate and business customers, hospitals and emergency medical services, tourism operators, law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Army and Navy, the Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Dolphin is one of several Airbus Group technologies serving with the Coast Guard. The HC-144A Ocean Sentry maritime patrol aircraft, in operation with the Coast Guard since 2009, is based on the Airbus CN235 tactical airlifter. And the Airbus Defense and Space TRS-3D radar is installed aboard the service's National Security Cutters.

Airbus Group is the largest customer of U.S. aerospace and defense products, contributing more than $16.5 billion to the economy and supporting more than 250,000 American jobs.
