100 years and 100 days following the formation of the Royal Air Force on 1 Apr 1918, the largest assembly of military aircraft over London for 30 years took place and was the culmination of a number of celebratory events across the nation.
The Windsor Formation flypast was led over Buckingham Palace by the rotary wing Vortex (Puma and Chinook) and Spectre (Jupiter and Juno) sections.
