OPBAT is a combined on going mission by the United States and the Government of Bahamas to combat drug smuggling to and from the caribbean islands. DEA coordinated the operation with the US Department of Defense, US Coast Guard and local authorities

Between 1983 and 1985 USAF 20th SOS deploy two UH-1N which flew more than 1,100 sorties resulting in the capture of more than $1.5 billion in drugs, vessels, vehicles, aircraft, equipment and weapons.

US Army aviation end its involvement in the mission in 2007
