    Evacuation of over 4500 British and other nationals from Lebanon, as part of a Non-combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO), during mid July 2006. Navy Sea Kings and RAF Chinook helicopters lifted people to Royal Navy ships standing off from Beirut, and deployed UK and UN officials to assist in resolving the crisis. Ships took the refugees to Cyprus, from where British nationals were flown initially to London Stansted in Essex.
