Transportes Aereos Pegaso was founded in 1981 and since 1983 served Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) in the transportation of passengers and equipment to the oil and gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico. They also offer charter flights in fixed-wing aircraft. By 2007 they have completed over 540,000 flight operations making them one of the top aerial transportation companies of the country.

Pegaso is a certified EC135 and EC145 maintenance center and as of 2012 operates 31 Eurocopter aircraft.
