Formed at RNAS Culdrose in Jun 1972 with 4 Norwegian Air Force Sea King Mk.43 to train on the newly acquired airframes from Westland. After several courses, the unit disbanded in late 1972 and the aircraft and crews departed for Norway.
Further courses for foreign forces would be done in a less ad hoc manner, through a newly formed RN Foreign Training Unit.
