Established on 1 Sep 1983 in the grounds of Krems hospital. The site was lacking in pumped fuel and was open to the elements, which made operations a challenge until an undercover area below the new helipad became available in 1987. In early 2015, the flight moved to its purpose-built base at Gneixendorf.
