Denver Police Department (DPD) Air Support Unit was created July 1998. Operates a Bell 407 helicopter called Air One equipped with sophisticated observation and navigation equipment.
As of 2007 flew over 9,500 accident-free hours covering over 33,000 dispatched calls and been responsible for over 1,400 felony arrests.
