In April 2007 the Essex Air Ambulance charity became known as the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT).
The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was introduced on November 2008.
On 2011, Captain Nicky Smith became the UK’s first female Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) pilot when joined the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust
