
In 2003 Air Methods acquired Rocky Mountain Helicopters and takes over as the aviation vendor for Loyola University Medical Center.
In 2007 the Loyola Lifestar program was sell to Air Methods and changes from a traditional hospital based program to a community based program. A contract is signed to relocate the helicopter from its current location at Loyola University Medical Center to the Joliet, Illinois area. This move will centrally locate the helicopter in its primary service area making it a more efficient resource for the surrounding communities and EMS services.
