The 1370th Photo-Mapping Wing had sole responsibility for the Air Force's aerial mapping photography and electronic surveying. The three fold mission included world wide precision photo-mapping, electronic controlled photo-mapping, and aerial electronic geodetic surveys. Boeing-Vertol CH-21B helicopters were used in a support role. They were later replaced with Kaman HH-43 and Sikorsky CH-3C aircraft.
