
Also known as Tribal class were originally fitted out for antisubmarine warfare (ASW) and they were among the first worlds ships to employ gas turbines exclusively. The two of them based on the Atlantic coast were fitted with additional antennas and radio equipment for NATO operations. The entire class underwent major retrofits as a part of the Tribal Class Update and Modernization Project (TRUMP) in the early 1990s. |
