    1962-mar-4AircraftAccident P.531 XN334 ditched while operating trials off Portland.
    1962-oct-4Trialsengines failed during sea trials in the Caribbean
    1964-marAircraftassigned Wasp HAS.1 XS540 as Ashanti Flt/177-AS, until c Aug 1965.
    1965-octAircraft829 NAS Ashanti Flight reformed at RNAS Culdrose during Oct 1965, moved to RNAS Portland during Nov and received its Wasp in mid Dec 1965.
    1966-jul-25DeploymentDeparted UK for Persian Gulf deployment. The Wasp had joined ship at Devonport on 19 Jul.
    1966-dec-31DeploymentAlongside in Aden for COSAG repair. Some crew seconded to Army for road blocks and up country retreat tactics.
    1967-junDeploymentassigned to Eastern Task Force off Aden, guarding interests during Middle East Six Day War. Relieved on station by HMS Eskimo.
