1962-jul-24DeploymentMYPulau Tioman South China Sea Exercise FOTEX 62 participated in Exercise FOTEX 62 with Far East Fleet, RAN and RNZN
1964-feb-16Deploymentdeparted HMNB Devonport for Far East deployment, relieving HMS Berwick and HMS Dido en route, mainly patrolling near Indonesia and Malaysia. Departed 12 Aug 1965 in company with HMS Chichester and returned to Plymouth on 9 Sep 1965. Relieved en route by HMS Londonderry.
1966-jan-11Deploymentdeparted HMNB Devonport for Far East deployment, returning 28 Jul 1966.
1966-marDeploymentMozambique Channel Beira Beira Patrol off Moazmbique to enforce UN sanctions against Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
1966-augRefitReady for Wasp Sea Cat until 1969 at HMD Chatham to fit Seacat, upgrade electronics and equip for Wasp operations

1982-apr-2Deployment Operation Corporate Ordered to South Atlantic from exercise as part of the Advanced Group. Key role in South Georgia operations. Seriously damaged in air attack on 8 Jun 1982. Departed theatre in company with HMS Glamorgan on 29 Jun 1982. Returned to HMNB Rosyth on 24 Jul 1982, for refit.
1982-apr-14DeploymentGrytviken Operation Paraquat Joined with HMS Antrim, HMS Endurance and RFA Tidespring for recovery of South Georgia.
1982-julRefitrefit and repair to damage from Falklands campaign, until Dec 1982 at HMD Rosyth
1984-mar-11In collision with FGS Braunschweig (F225)
1989Fate: museumTrinity Pier Warship Preservation Trust at Millbay, Plymouth
1990-junFate: museumTransferred to the River Clyde for Glasgow 1990 celebrations.
1991-novFate: museumBirkenhead Transferred to Cammell Laird for maintenance and repairs until Spring 1992
1992-aprFate: museumTransferred to East Float Dock, Birkenhead for public display (opened May 1992) until Feb 2006.
2006-feb-6Fate: museumVittoria Dock Warship Preservation Trust collapsed. Future of HMS Plymouth (still at Birkenhead) uncertain.
2012-marFate: scrappedSold by Peel Ports to a Turkish ship breaker. Left Birkenhead East Float Dock under tow by mv Amber II, on 20 Aug 2014
