The MARI-B Gas field was discovered in Feb 2000. The 03 well had been drilled towards the end of Mar 2001, terminating in the Miocence sands at a depth of 2553m. The platform was constructed and was in production by Jan 2004.
There have been some concerns over management of pumping rates from the field, as the platform was reportedly subsiding faster than forecast. A plan is in place to store gas, transferred from other fields / wells into the formation to stabilise it.
